MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION INSTRUCTION SHEET
Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Delaware Valley Havanese Club. We look forward to seeing you at club events. All applicants must attend two club meetings before applying for any level of membership and for household membership both applicants must attend.
Please note that it may take several months for final approval inasmuch as each applicant must be "read" at a meeting and then voted on at the following club meeting. Upon receiving your application we will place you on our mailing list so you can keep up with news and events.
Levels of Membership
Associate Membership
Associate level membership is for someone who chooses not to become a regular or household member, a person that does not own a Havanese or who is between 11 and 18 years old. An associate member cannot vote or hold office. Associate members may serve on event committees. This level does not require any sponsorship. An associate member wishing to become a regular member must reapply following the regular membership guidelines. As with all levels of membership, the applicant must attend two meetings before applying for initial membership.
Regular and Household Membership
Regular memberships require two sponsors that are club members in good standing (sponsors may not be from the same household) to endorse the applicant. Regular members may vote and hold office. A Household membership is composed of two Regular members who reside together. Each individual must apply separately. As with all levels of membership, the applicant(s) must attend two meetings before applying for initial membership.
If you are unsure of which level membership to choose, you might want to join as an associate member, attend a few meetings/shows and get to know some folks in the club. It is, after all, about community.
Your interest in the DVHC and your participation on committees is a wonderful way to show your commitment to the Havanese breed and to the DVHC. Your support is always greatly appreciated.
