DVHC Canine Learning Experience 2006
In addition to providing breed information to the general public the CLE is also the place to come for novice handlers; especially young people. Below are some shots of the special segment on showing your dog .

Havanese - Meet the Breed
Saturday, January 28, 2006
Allentown, PA
Sponsored by the Delaware Valley Havanese Club

2006 Rescue Quilt on Display

If you or your favorite Havanese are experiencing the winter blahs (and even if you aren't), come on out to the Canine Learning  Experience, hosted by the Lehigh Valley Kennel Club, in Agricultural Hall at the Allentown Fairgrounds on January 28 and 29, 2006. There will be dozens of vendors, seminars, demonstrations, and breed education booths. They also have an eye clinic and a tattoo clinic (by appointment).

The Delaware Valley Havanese Club will be presenting its third “Meet the Breed” booth on Saturday at this exciting event. At this year’s booth we will be displaying the 2006 Havanese Rescue Quilt. Since this is a wall quilt, it allows the quilters to be more elaborate in their construction. The quilt shows many scenes of Havanese, each square a work of art in itself. The raffle drawing will take place at the National Specialty Show in October in Richmond, Virginia, but you can see the quilt first at the CLE.
For more information about the CLE event and scheduled seminars, visit Lehigh Valley Kennel Club Canine Learning Experience.  to get an overview of the event and a schedule of seminars and demos.

“Meet the Havanese”  Booth – Call for Volunteers
The DVHC will have a team of volunteers and Havanese at its education booth on Saturday. We still need some additional volunteers (both human and canine) to staff the booth.

We will schedule people so that no one needs to be in the booth more than 2 hours (8-10, 10-12, 12-2, 2-4). Each volunteer has plenty of time to see the rest of the booths and demonstrations. We would like to have at least two people and one dog in the booth at all times, but we intend to stay flexible.     If you can help staff the booth, even for an hour, please contact me,  Wayne Harding ( merryway@ptd.net ), with your first and second choice of time slot. Please consider bringing your Havanese. Your dog doesn't have to be in show coat, just have a neat and clean presentation and enjoys meeting people.
Saturday includes an obedience match during the day and a puppy sweepstakes in the evening. Sunday features an all-breed match show (all of these are by pre-entry only.)
To volunteer or ask questions, please contact Wayne Harding at merryway@ptd.net .
Thanks for your help.  We look forward to seeing you there!
