WE DID IT!! NERHC had its first fun match Saturday, June 10 and despite 98 degree temperatures, had a lovely turnout of both humans and havanese!
NERHC was formed in November, 1999 with the permission of the Havanese Club of America (HCA), our parent club which is the only Havanese parent club recognized by the AKC. During the probationary period before formal recognition by the AKC the club must have matches [conformation shows where there are no points awarded], conduct educational programs, develop a consititution and develop an area membership sufficient to support the club. This was NERHC's first match and a handling class was provided to help novices learn generally about dog shows and how to manage their dogs in the ring.
